Academy of Forensic Sciences is an independent, voluntary and exclusive organization with members on the basis of their common interest in quality and further development of forensic science.

The Academy's mission is to create a unified platform for developing and implementing the results of forensic sciences, constantly improving the professional quality of all its members through education and propagation of information, widespreading awareness of the principles and the needs of forensic sciences among the users of the results of forensic sciences, professionals and public, and, not least, to protect the interests of its members through all available forms.

To achieve this it is essential to promote, strengthen and expand the membership base, to actively cooperate with other bodies at national and international level, to increase professional level of members and thus the prestige of the Academy, to develop active work in the professional sections, and ensure strict compliance with the Code of Ethics for a member of the Academy. For this meetings, seminars and conferences are organised, expert opinions are prepared, results of scientific studies are published.

Academy of Forensic Sciences is a professional platform and guarantor of the development of forensic science, methodologies, techniques, procedures and recommendations for specific forensics areas. Academy provides independent positions on issues of forensic work for government, and other public and private bodies. Academy of Forensic Sciences is not a forensics laboratory and do not provide forensics examinations directly.
